So where is this "Abundant Life" Jesus promised?.
Have you ever asked that question?
Have you ever thought you should be farther along in your spiritual
life by now?
Immediately after conversion most Christians begin to grow by leaps
and bounds, encouraged by new discoveries, gaining new insights about
life and spiritual realities, and even perhaps trying their hand at
ministry. Then for no discernable reason, many find that an emptiness
starts creeping in that they don't know how to stop, and they are left
with a nagging feeling that something more ought to be possible
..... but what?
Christians often know a lot about God without really feeling
like they know God. Many of us have learned a lot about Christianity
and without feeling very Christ-like much of the time. Some have grown
tired of hearing the same old things year after year and have settled
for something far less than what they thought should be possible. And
if this lingers on very long, we begin to think that there is something
wrong with us, something with our heart that we cannot seem to touch
or name.
Good News! Thanks to the work of some very gifted and dedicated
teachers, the Evangelical world today is rediscovering what it means
to live in the Kingdom of God and why this has been so hard to find
for so many Christians in recent times.
